Hey there! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been building something close to our hearts: Video Collaboration. 🎉

Why This Was So Important to Us

We know how frustrating it can be to organize feedback for videos. With images, it's usually straightforward since feedback revolves around a single frame. But videos? That’s a whole different challenge. Comments about second 1, 12, or 45 pile up quickly, and collecting them across countless emails is not just annoying—it’s incredibly inefficient.

Creating a tool to fix this isn’t exactly a groundbreaking idea. Providers like Frame.io, Filestage, ReviewStudio, and Wipster already tackle this problem. So why did we decide to jump in? Because we wanted to offer an alternative—primarily for European businesses that prefer, or are required, to avoid foreign providers.

While building Ignite’s video collaboration feature, we stuck to our core values: privacy, simplicity, and an outstanding user experience.

What Was Important to Us?

When developing our video collaboration feature, we focused on three key principles:

    Our goal was to make teamwork easier, not more complicated. Less chaos, more focus. That’s why the feature is designed to let you jump right in—no need for a 20-page manual. We didn’t aim to copy every function from existing tools but instead chose to focus on a specific area: streamlining video feedback and collaboration.

    This part was straightforward for us. Ignite is built from the ground up to be GDPR-compliant. All data is hosted on servers in Germany, and we don’t track users or create profiles. Your data stays private—exactly as it should.

    If you check out our pricing plans, you’ll notice they include a set number of accounts. But when it comes to video collaboration, it often involves larger groups or external stakeholders. We wanted this feature to be flexible, allowing people to participate in video feedback without needing an account. Requiring everyone to sign up would’ve just been too complicated.

How to Use Video Collaboration

Our video collaboration feature is available starting with the Basic Package and comes included with all accounts—no extra fees required. Follow these steps to get started:

Part 1: Prepare Your Video

  1. Log in to your Ignite account.
  2. Upload your video as you normally would.
  3. Open the Collaboration Tab.
  4. Decide who can comment:
  5. Copy the link and share it with your team or clients.

Part 2: Collect Feedback

  1. The recipient opens the video through the shared link.
  2. Comments can be added in two ways:
  3. All feedback is displayed directly in your Ignite dashboard, organized by timestamp for easy review.

Part 3: Implement Changes

  1. Work through the comments step by step.
  2. Once everyone is happy with the updates, replace the old version of the video seamlessly—no manual effort or versioning headaches.
