AI Credits in Ignite: How They Work and What You Can Do With Them
AI can do a lot — but for us, it’s not only about the results, it’s about how they’re created. To make sure you can use all Ignite’s AI features safely, fairly and with full control, we work with AI Credits. They’re your monthly balance for all AI-powered functions inside Ignite.
We deliberately set the bar high when it comes to data protection. All AI features run entirely on servers located in Europe, without connecting to any external providers. We don’t route anything through OpenAI/ChatGPT or similar interfaces. This ensures maximum data security — and explains why we rely on a clear, transparent credit system.
The Basics: What Are AI Credits?
AI Credits are your companies balance for all AI-powered tools in Ignite. You can use them flexibly for things like:
- Transcribing your videos
- Translating transcripts into 40+ languages
- Automatically generating video chapters
- Or creating AI-generated video descriptions
Each use consumes a certain number of credits, depending on the feature and the video length.
Put simply: 1 credit equals about one minute of video material for transcription or translation. Other features consume significantly fewer credits.
How Many Credits Are Included?
Depending on your plan, you automatically receive a monthly AI-credit allowance:

In the dashboard you’ll always see how many credits you have left and how many a specific action will use before you run it.
Credits can’t be carried over to the next month — this keeps the system fair and predictable for everyone.

What Can I Use AI Credits For?
Ignite offers several AI features you can activate as needed.
Important to know: most of these features build on each other.
For translations, chapter suggestions, or video descriptions, you’ll first need a transcript. Either created automatically by Ignite or uploaded manually. That way, every subsequent AI process works on a clean, verified text basis and produces accurate results.
In short: before the AI can generate anything else, it has to understand what’s happening and being said in your video.

Tips for Using Your AI Credits Efficiently
Limits are never fun, we know. But a few simple habits can help you get the most out of your credits:
- Transcribe, review, then translate.
Translations are based on the transcript. Finalize and proof it first, then run the translation. - Use the final video version.
No brainer, right? But if your video changes in length, you’ll need a new transcript so timecodes match correctly. Avoid creating a lot of transcripts by just doing it on the final version. - Only translate into the languages you really need.
Also a no brainer. But usually not all your content is public. So save credits and keeps your library tidy. - Efficiency over routine.
Focus your credits on content that drives reach or accessibility. - Spread usage over time.
Create transcripts or translations directly when uploading new content instead of doing everything in one batch — it keeps credit usage even across months.
What Happens When I Run Out of Credits?
Once your monthly balance is used up, AI features pause automatically. Your credits renew at the start of each month — no action needed.
To run an AI process, you need enough credits available for the full task. Example: you have 10 credits but want to transcribe a 20-minute video. Easy, is it? that task won’t start.
Otherwise, just reach out if…
- you consistently need more credits in the long run,
- you’re migrating your entire video library to Ignite (it’s okay if the first month gets “heavy”), or
- something urgent requires a few extra credits.
